So I had my dA birthday recently, four years on dA  

For those of you who wish to know, yes I am alive. I do not come here often (proof of that is the 3,000+ deviations in my inbox) because I do not have time. However, the end of the semester is here! Exams are this week

No, I have not made any art. Firstly my tablet quit working but it's okay now. Then I just honestly have not felt like it. *shrug* I haven't had any motivation/inspiration. And then lastly, most importantly, I have had absolutely no time to do so. When I have had time, I've been having a social life/enjoying my junior year here at school. There is a part of me that wants to make a manipulation but then I just never do it. I do have a lot of photography to upload but I haven't had the time to do it. I will probably as soon as I go on break at the end of the week.

I want to get back into the swing of things over break. I hope I do. I miss all of you!!

<sub>Wow..hi....gosh I haven't been keeping up with you all very well at all. School is just......ugh.....keeping me so busy...so...anyways I promised I would make a journal about my new photography project. SO, I am an honors student here at my school so my senior year (next year yowza) I get to do an honors thesis project in my field (which is photo/design but Im focusing on photo) and then present it to an oral defense and then to campus. (scary, I know) So, I have been focusing on fashion photography and how women are portrayed in the media: how they're sexualized, objectified, and overly Photoshopped most of the time. I am not saying this is ALL OF THE TIME but predominantly this is what happens. People do not actually realize the extent of Photoshop work on models until you see something from start to finish, which is the basis of this project. I am purposefully sexualizing my models as a commentary on society and also Photoshopping them as they would be in a magazine and then presenting them with the unretouched versions of themselves to show the extreme difference.

Everyone can be that perfect, but not without the help of Photoshop. I am hoping to help improve body images of at least the women who come and view my show next year, but one day, I hope this project (as I hone it further) will extend to a larger audience. Anyways, I want to apologize for not being around, I keep wanting to get back into art but I just haven't been into making anything digitally. (that and my tablet has stopped working, my sister is fixing it soon hopefully ) Nothing has inspired me, I've been swamped with homework and tests and I've been focusing so much on photography, I've almost quit caring about the digital art side of my life. Which I am sad to say, but I do have hope that I will get back into it. Probably when I'm on winter break with nothing to do

Also, my birthday is on Saturday!! Pretty pumped, I'll be 21!! And no, I am not going to go out and drink and party, not really my stye, but I do have hopes of having my first drink over the weekend at some point. I hope you all are well and I'm sorry I'm so slow on messages. I'm trying to go through my inbox but I have SO MUCH STUFF. It's crazy.

Also, to any of the people that went through Sandy, I hope that you all are well and I really hope that your families are okay too. Please stay safe and sound!!!!

So I have excellent news you guys.

I won't go into huge details because it's a long ass story BUT we have found funds for my schooling I am so happy you guys. I am over the moon about it to be honest. The stress has been lifted. Anyways, I am on Fall Break right now so hopefully I'll be able to make more art since I'll be at home not having to worry about homework and real life

Also, I have done a feature in a while so I feel like I need to do one. So here we go
